Just days after Bethenny Frankel settled a lawsuit against Skinnygirl, she is back in the legal spotlight. This time the court is honing in on her two-year divorce settlement with Jason Hoppy.
For a brief moment, Frankel seemed to have a grasp on her legal battles. But The Real Housewives of New York City star has been ordered to pay up more than $100,000 to Hoppy.
According to court documents filed on May 4, a judge ordered Frankel to pay Hoppy’s $100,000 attorney fees by June 1.
The judge declared that Hoppy “lacks sufficient funds of his own to compensate counsel without depleting his assets.”
Hoppy, a drug company salesman has racked up as much in attorney fees as earns yearly. According to Radar Online, he makes just over $100,000 a year.
The court documents state that Hoppy paid lawyers $307,683. As of March 12, 2014, he owed them $86,996.
